Ireti: new concession, this time worth billions, acquired by the Iren Group in Piacenza and its province. The company won the tender for Integrated Water Services for the Municipalities of Piacenza and the Province. As stated in a company press release, Atersir, the Emilia-Romagna territorial agency for water and waste services, has in fact proceeded with the award to Ireti Spa of the tender for the concession of the Integrated Water Service for the Province of Piacenza which includes 46 municipalities for over 284,000 inhabitants served.
Times and amounts
The new concession, which joins that of the Iren Group for waste management, will start on 1 January 2025 and will have a duration of 16 years, until 31 December 2040. According to the note, the estimated value of the integrated water service subject to credit is 1 billion and 254 million euros (over 78 million per year). The Iren Group company, in its plan, envisages important investments in the networks and systems of the integrated water cycle for a value of approximately 385 million euros.

Ireti has proposed an important investment plan which will include the renewal of over 1,000 km of network, the interconnections of aqueducts in order to improve the resilience of the entire water system in the face of water crises or quality problems of the sources”. According to Giuseppini, these are “interventions aimed at reducing spills at the most critical spillways, as well as interventions aimed at reducing energy consumption and further reducing water losses with the important objective of decreasing to 17% by 2040”.
