Palermo, 2 May 2024 – The ASP traveling open day returns to Palermo for another day dedicated to prevention. After the stages of Trappeto, Torretta and Trabia (with over 2,200 performances overall), tomorrow the “Health Village” will be in Piazza della Memoria (Palazzo di Giustizia).

The initiative was promoted by the Palermo Bar Association in collaboration with the National Association of Palermo Magistrates.

There is a long list of services – all free and with direct access – which will be provided from 10am to 4.30pm by the operators of the capital’s health authority. In addition to mammography (breast cancer screening reserved for women between 50 and 69 years old), Pap Test and HPV Test (cervical carcinoma screening for women between 25 and 64 years old) and distribution of the Sof Test (colon rectal cancer screening, reserved to people between 50 and 69 years old), users will be able to join the cardiovascular prevention program (visit, ECG and possible in-depth ultrasound, aimed at over 45s), thyroid cancer screening (ultrasound) and traditional and anti-Covid vaccinations.

The pediatric area will see the ASP operators involved in visual screening (3-8 years) and speech therapy screening (3-8 years), while a station will be dedicated to the administrative desk for changing doctors, issuing a health card or ticket exemption for income.

Veterinarians will also be present tomorrow in Piazza della Memoria who, as part of the activities to prevent stray animals, will implant microchips in the dogs free of charge.

After the stop at the Palace of Justice, the Open Day campers will be on Sunday 5 May in Piazza Falcone e Borsellino in Altofonte and on Wednesday 8 May at Villa Filangeri in Santa Flavia. (no.)
