In the next few days, FOUR opportunities to visit thethe municipal planetarium “A. Masani” in via Bassagrande 47 in Marina di Carrara. It begins with the meeting of this Friday, May 3, 9.15pm. We will start from the discovery of the life and works of Isaac Newtonwhose essential contribution to astronomy with its laws is well known, but less known is the interesting (and in some respects contradictory) human figure. To follow Sunday afternoon, May 5th at 6pmthe monthly afternoon opening, particularly suitable for families with small children.While Tuesday May 7oron the occasion of the International Planetarium Day, which commemorates the date of inauguration to the public of the first planetarium in Munich, Germany, the Marinello planetarium will make two free openings, lasting about an hour, as a “taster” of the activities taking place at our planetarium, at 6pm and at 9pm. The evening events also include the observation of the movements of the sky under the dome of the planetarium and, weather conditions permitting, the recognition of the constellations in the real sky, also observing the main celestial objects visible in this period through the telescope. In the afternoon sessions, instead of observing the stars outdoors, we will instead observe the Sun through the telescope and the scale model of the Solar System present in the garden of the primary school of Paradiso A, which houses the planetarium premises.
