Ups and downs for the Borgorosso Bisceglie coached by Umberto Di Liddo in his first experience in CSEN “Old Boys” senior provincial championship of Bari. The red and white Over 25 team has often shown good performances in previous months, however failing to obtain points when they would have deserved them. The sensational example is the test on 6 April at the Morgese Stadium in Toritto, where the Galletti, against the Old Bullon a sunny afternoon, they went ahead by two goals in the first twenty-five minutes, with Dell’Olio and Parisi and with the vanished possibility of tripling, before yet another blackout and the home team’s comeback to the final 4-2. On Saturday 13 April, however, things went differently: in the home match against the Bari teamAsia 2017, on the pitch of the Capirro Sport Village in Trani, it was the cockerels who came back from three goals. At 0-3 the Bisceglie team seemed doomed, in fact, until that moment the red and whites had never shot on target. This time, however, pride emerged and the fresh forces coming off the bench gave their important contribution. When there were nine minutes remaining, Sandro Parisi, with a stone in the seven, finally moved the scoreboard of Bisceglie’s scorers. With two to go the score was 2-3, once again with a strong shot from the edge of the area by Parisi, while, in the last minute, Leo “Rooney” La Notte scored the unexpected goal of 3-3.
In the midweek recovery on Thursday evening 18 April, on the synthetic Nickworld in Loseto, the Bari team ofCold water by 3-0. Di Liddo’s men, after less than five minutes of play, lost goalkeeper De Palo to a shoulder injury. After the goal conceded in the first half of the game, in the second half Borgorosso was punished twice on the counterattack. The points instead arrived but were forfeited for the match scheduled for Saturday 20 April against Cral Amiu Puglia on the “Capo Casale” sports field in San Girolamo, in Bari, not played due to the withdrawal of the home team decimated by absences. Finally, in Monday’s postponement April 29 at home against the namesakes of Borgorosso Bari, third in the standings, captain Rana’s team played well but suffered a beating that was too severe for what was seen on the pitch. After the opportunity that occurred on Dell’Olio’s right, it was the Bari team who scored directly from a free kick. After two more chances for Borgorosso, in the 30th minute Lavolpicella’s strong shot found the winning deflection from Pepé Dell’Olio for the deserved 1-1. So far the match has been balanced and full of emotions. In the second half, however, another four goals came from Bari (1-5 in the final) but the important opportunities created by Lavolpicella, Leuci and Di Liddo deserved better luck. They would certainly have exacerbated the extent of the defeat.
