New front of meteorological instability over Italy, a front coming from the western Mediterranean which will bring with it a further worsening of atmospheric conditions. Its advance will begin on Wednesday evening, with the North-West hit first, and then extend to the Tyrrhenian sectors and part of the North-East.

In consideration of current and forecasted meteorological phenomena, a yellow alert has been issued for today, Thursday 2 May, over parts of Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, VenetoEmilia-Romagna and the entire territory of Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and Campania.

Based on available forecasts, the Department of Civil protection in agreement with the regions involved – who are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – issued a new warning of adverse weather conditionswhich follows and extends the one issued yesterday.

Widespread rainfall, sometimes thunderstorms, is expected from the early hours of tomorrow in Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, central-western Emilia-Romagna and Veneto. During today, they will also extend to Tuscany, Lazio and Campania, with heavy showers, lightning, possible local hailstorms and significant gusts of wind.

The population is invited to pay particular attention and take the necessary precautions, considering the risk of hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities.
