The police commissioner of Naples blocks the protest demonstration against General Vannacci, the League’s candidate for the European elections.
The mobilization against General Roberto Vannacci, candidate for the European Parliament with Salvini’s League, has been blocked: the soldier known for his controversial opinions, author of a best-selling book entitled “The world upside down” will be in Naples on Thursday 2 May to present his second non-fiction work and for his candidacy for the next European Elections. In the last few hours some acronyms from the antagonistic left-wing area, led by Mezzocannone Occupied and others from the LGBTQ+ world, had announced a protest against Vannacci’s latest utterances, in particular those on Benito Mussolini and those on disabled children at school.
A little while ago, the organizers inform via Instagram, the police commissioner of Naples Maurizio Agricola effectively prohibited the gathering in front of the event venue, an art club located in via Nazario Sauro, Santa Lucia area. «This morning – the activists write – we were at the May Day procession, when some Digos agents approached us and in an intimidating manner handed us a communication from the Naples Police Headquarters. The paper contains a clear ban and decision to hold the protest against General Vannacci in Largo Nazario Sauro for reasons of public order.”
The prescription states for reasons of public order that the protest procession cannot continue beyond Piazza del Plebiscito. The organizers of the mobilization have announced that they will still hold the demonstration from 4 pm.
