How could it have happened – they ask us – that a splendid and complete city from a physical-environmental point of view with resources of excellence unique in the world has seen ever increasing practical and moral degradation, the abandonment of the institutions and first of all the Municipal institution which, despite standing up every time as a champion of change to improve and get out of situations of exclusion by the Central Government, has so far left the dismayed citizens in a situation of stasis and which only thanks to the strong hope of a recovery continues to want to be determined and convinced that the new local Administration is aware and therefore responsible for the return to that Castellammare of a time now too distant. Q. We see continuous weather changes these days. What do you think of the Stabia area?
A. We are fully aware of climate change, which increasingly presents itself with extreme phenomena: heavy rains and heat waves, and which impose continuous changes, from what we eat to where we work.
Q.What can be done? How to intervene?
A. We must intervene to protect the environment as a priority to provide a possible future of hope for our children. Living Castellammare clean and beautiful is possible with education aimed at defending our natural beauty.
D. After dark years with viral infection and total closure of relationships. How to resume a dialogue with citizens? –
A. The past pandemic has transformed our way of living and seeing things, calling into question family relationships, work, our way of seeing the world. Without neglecting the consequence it has had on our health and social services, put under strain, with the final result of having generated more inequalities.
Q. Castellammare in a poorer South and with forgotten cities…?-
A. Let’s start again with dialogue and discussion, communicating better directly with people. Cities suffer from a lack of services suited to the continuous daily demands of life. Many inequalities increased by a transformation of modern society and a short-sighted vision of central power.
Q. What needs to change?-
A. Development actions must be implemented, through investment programs aimed at creating jobs and through poorly managed temporary subsistence projects. Q. And the employment shortages? –
A. New technologies are determining a new map of resources, from primary resources to people’s work. In the world of work there are few social support tools. We need to put the importance of human resources and the skills of high-profile professional figures at the centre.
Q. Is the family a fundamental nucleus for creating a new model of confrontation between citizens and institutions? –
A. In this context the family is the main pivot that moves in a blocked gear. But we need to focus on fundamental educational elements. Resume that thread of dialogue with parents, grandparents and the most important figures for children who accelerate their growth times.
Q. Priorities…?-
A. It is necessary to combat youth hardship with educators and legislative instruments aimed at reducing handicaps and social differences. Make sure to create opportunities for inclusion and give concrete resources to the weakest family groups.
Q. How do you see the future of Castellammare di Stabia then?
A. Our Castellammare today finds itself having to deal with the urgency of providing answers to the many families even when it does not fully have the skills from a technical, legal and administrative point of view.
Q. What is needed?
A. Today we need courageous men and women who must fight to have rights and fight against those who exploit crisis situations to increase their economic interests.
Q. A municipality with a new team of reformists?
A. A fighting politics and municipality, capable of having new ideas and solutions, of discussing effectively and being efficient with the levels of management and legislative powers.
Q. A new way and approach to lay the foundations for possible development?
A. Teamwork, dialogue with new ideas and projects that are feasible and financeable. A
possible dream? Propose a mayor who represents everyone. Lay the moral foundations for a great Castellammare di Stabia, so as not to leave anyone behind. Great because it is strong, ecological, inclusive and progressive. We must aim to make Castellamare a “European smart city”.

A. There is the ambition to create a strong democratic working group that works for the future of all citizens. Plan a different economic growth, have serious and honest political points of reference.

We work for legality because the stronger the feeling of solidarity, the more effective and sustainable the wealth is to be distributed throughout the territory, because we want a beautiful, clean city on a human scale. A. The new administration of the municipal machine will have to be organized as a streamlined and effective family structure. An operational team in contact with citizens.
