“Following the intervention plan approved by the Department of Civil Protection, we decided to intervene to support the Municipality of Chieti which also has to deal with financial distress”. This was said by the president of the regional council, Marco Marsilio, who today signed the provision authorizing the intervention in support of the Municipality of Chieti, through an advance of 600 thousand euros, to start the first urgent civil protection interventions and the necessary support for the population concerned, following the exceptional meteorological events that occurred last year and which caused severe hydrogeological disruption in the area of via Arenazze in Chieti.
“As soon as we received the request, in agreement with the Civil Protection we remodeled the plan of interventions that had been planned, and which provides for an allocation of four million and 120 thousand euros, in order to advance 600 thousand euros to allow the municipal administration to put during the first urgent works – added the president – The director of the Civil Protection Agency, Mauro Casinghini, has always been in close contact with the municipal administration of Chieti, offering the widest support, with the aim of guaranteeing support for families who have had to forcibly leave their homes and to proceed with the first safety interventions which will include the demolition of 2 buildings – he concluded – After this first remodulation of the interventions we continue, through civil protection, the work of monitoring of the areas affected by landslides”.
