“Celebrating workers today is even more important than in the past,” she recalls the president of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani.
“Safety – he added – is fundamental and this opens up a profound reflection on the world of work. We must not let our guard down and ensure that the dictates of the Constitution, which dedicates two articles to labor issues in its fundamental principles, are fully implemented. Work must be the source of the personal fulfillment of the human being and more generally the founding element of Italian society”.
“In the right to work – underlines the president of the Tuscany Region -, there is personal fulfillment but also the guarantee that the right to work means security. We have recently drawn up, in Bagno a Ripoli, a decalogue: the training charter on safety at work which is not a formal document but the concrete commitment of everyone to protect the rights and well-being of workers”.
“At an international level, work – continues the president of the Tuscany Region – is celebrated on May 1st with a universal day that celebrates working women and men, the commitment of trade union movements and the social and economic objectives of workers. It is significant, on this date, to celebrate the new masters of work, the pride and pride of Tuscany”.
This is the position that the president of the Tuscany Region expressed when speaking at Palazzo Vecchio at the awarding of the stars of merit to 75 new Tuscan masters of work.
Presenting the honours, conferred by the President of the Republic to workers who have distinguished themselves in the professional activities carried out within the company, were among others, together with the President of the Region, the prefects of the Tuscan provincial capitals and the mayors of the territories of residence of those who have been awarded the stars of merit.
