Latina is preparing to host the first edition of the Italian Woman Festival, a major cinematographic event, inaugurated on May 2nd. The event, sponsored by the Lazio Region, the Municipality and the Province of Latina, is promoted by the Mayor of Latina and the City Councilor Enzo De Amicis.

Under the guidance of Maria Luisa Celani, artistic and organizational director, the festival is curated by Wuman Visions, an entity created with the aim of exploring and promoting cinema through a gender perspective, focusing in particular on works directed by emerging women. The event counts on the collaboration of cinemagia.online, a platform dedicated to independent cinema.

The Italian Woman Festival stands out as the first film festival in Latina focused on the gender perspective, offering a program that includes new languages and generations of filmmakers, as well as independent productions. Among the prestigious guests include Nancy Brilli, Stefania Casini, Paola Lavini and Elisabetta Pellini.
Prominent Events and National Previews
The festival includes debates and meetings, including a discussion on the topic of violence against women. Among the highlights of the program are the national premieres of “Knockdown – The Suicide Format” by Inessa Gordeiko and “Donne di Miniera” by Roberto Carta, the latter an analysis of the role of women in the Sardinian mining industry.
