In the year of celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the world skating federation World Skate, the magic of skating in Piazza Ariostea is renewed with the 1st of May Ferrara Inline – International Labor Trophy ‘City of Ferrara’. Around 700 skaters are expected at the start (including two Chinese and Indonesian representatives), including competitive and recreational-motor tests. The 65th edition of the event, the longest running in Italy, has officially entered the ‘Italy of Games’ program, for a more inclusive and green sport in view of MilanoCortina2026. The prologue yesterday with the Ferrara Inline Roller Games where Piazza Ariostea gave space to all roller sports, a promotional recreational-motor day open to all, with the collaboration of the provincial delegation of the FISR and the CIP. We move on to May 1st, a day of true and healthy competition. The program will begin in the morning at 8.30 with the competitions of the little ones, ready to compete in the prestigious trials of the 65th International Labor Trophy ‘Città di Ferrara’ in street skating, also valid as the first stage of the ‘Fabio Belotti’ Youth Grand Prix.

The sports club that will be at the top of the rankings at the end of the morning will win the third ‘Gilberto Silvagni Memorial’. We will then resume at 2pm with the adults, for a very fast afternoon which will see a great novelty, the debut of the spectacular team sprint race, a two-man relay over the distance of 400 metres. Various international presences have already been confirmed to compete in the races, from the return of the Dutch Noraly Berber Vonk, winner last year, as well as the Indonesian and Chinese delegations. At the end of the races, scheduled for 6pm, while the final operations of the competitive part will be carried out, the 1000 meters characteristic of the RetroRace will take place, ‘the Eroica of traditional skating’, which since last year has been dedicated to the unforgettable Paolo Campi.
