The Idol Music Festival, now in its second edition, will take place on the two evenings of the weekend of 10 and 11 May, in Piazza della Vittoria in Lodi, the main square and the beating heart of the city. It is a musical event organized by the Lombard municipality, in collaboration with the artistic director (who was born and lives in Terni), Lorenzo Nicoletti. It was born from an idea of the Councilor for Culture Francesco Milanesi and Tommaso Taddei, his collaborator (also born in Terni).

For the first edition, Nicoletti created a musical program that ranged from rap to new soul, passing through raggamuffin, Latin funk and DJ sets (one of which with DJ Delta, Italian champion of the Red Bull Thre3Style in 2017), an event never seen in Lodi before and which had really good success, bringing on stage established artists such as Murubutu (one of the greatest poets of Italian rap), and Rumba de Bodas, now an international group, but also some promises such as Icona Cluster, or Nicolas Consalvi from Terni, aka Crepa.
Nicoletti as art director, in addition to deciding the line up of the Lodi event, also created the name Idol (i.e. Lodi backwards): a small and simple intuition, but very effective and apt, which added a creative touch that was much appreciated by the organization that therefore chose it as its name.

Nicoletti “Create free and fun events for the public”
“The need was to give free spaces and opportunities for entertainment to the Lodi public, to offer an opportunity to “attract” those coming from outside and an artistic experience different from those they are used to witnessing in those latitudes – explains the artistic director Lorenzo Nicoletti – A sort of musical revolution in a city where rap and trap artists, but also artists close to other genres such as reggae and funky, were not taken into consideration in the past.
The public really liked the novelty, so much so that last year’s dates exceeded 800 people in the square. The objective of the second edition is to exceed a thousand attendances per date, focusing more on artists from the rap and trap scene, to attract an audience mainly under 35, as per the wishes of the organizing Municipality”.

Specifically, on May 10th, a collective from Lodi, 0.47, will open on stage, to then leave space, first to Nova King and then to Vacca, a long-standing rapper who has collaborated with some artists of the caliber of Fabri Fibra and Inoki . Then to close the first evening there will be one of the most successful producers and DJs on the Italian scene: Wlady (brother of DJ Jad of Articolo 31), who gave birth to hits such as last summer’s hit “Disco Paradise” with Fedez and Annalisa or “Volevo Tutto” with Ivana Spagna, and is currently among the authors of the new hit, “It’s Alright”, with Jeffrey Jey.
On May 11th, on the main date of the festival, Evi and Alessia Bertonasco will open, having won awards in the “La Voce di Lodi” contest, thus obtaining access to the evening, Claver Gold will then take to the stage, another very successful poet of Italian rap and main artist of this second edition, who will perform hosting among others Mattak, another rap talent. It will then be the turn of the DJ set with reggaeton and commercial notes by Giò Brunetti, together with vocalist Barbara Clara and two professional dancers (one of whom will be part of the dance troupe of the “Ciao Darwin” program from 2022). The event will be concluded by Vanessa Nur, who will close the event in the late evening with an hour of DJ sets with a typically techno atmosphere.
