TRIESTE – He had not returned home after thesoccer training. Concerned, the father stopped a patrol of the local police – at that moment on duty in Piazza Perugino – telling the officers that the eleven year old son he hadn’t actually returned home after finishing his sporting activity in a place where he used to go alone because it was close to their home: for a couple of hours he had been looking for him in vain, with growing concern.

The NIS operators, having received the first useful information, immediately issued a note research through the operations room to all the city’s law enforcement agencies, involving another patrol and personnel from the judicial police unit to coordinate the searches. While the patrols monitored the area in search of the minor – after excluding that the boy could have been transported to the hospital for any reason – the investigators ascertained that the minor had not gone to training but to a friend. In fact, the agents intercepted him near his partner’s house: in less than an hour from the report, the boy was returned to the care of his father who was finally able to breathe a big sigh of relief.
