Taranto has six new masters of work

Mayor Rinaldo Melucci received the recipients of the prestigious award at Palazzo di Città

During a sober ceremony held at Palazzo di Città this evening, the mayor of Taranto, Rinaldo Melucci, had the pleasure of greeting six new Masters of Work, a recognition which represents the highest honor that the State can confer on those who have distinguished for their work in valorising work.

In expressing his highest consideration for these workers, who have dedicated their lives to serving the community, often sacrificing time with their family, the mayor declared that “this recognition is a sign of esteem and appreciation for the commitment and dedication of people who have set an example for all of us. They are workers who have given their best, not only for themselves, but for their company, their community and the country”.

As recalled by the Provincial Consul of the Masters of Labor of Taranto, Francesco Chiarappa, the six new Masters of Labor were awarded the recognition for their long and meritorious career, during which they demonstrated that they possess the highest qualities of professionalism, responsibility and commitment. This is Grazia Palmisano (Aeroporti di Puglia SpA – Bari); Fabio Gemmato (Comes SpA- Taranto); Francesco Gigante (Comes SpA- Taranto); Giancarlo Lospinuso (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato); Antonio Marcone (Leonardo SpA- Foggia); Salvatore Scialpi (Comes SpA- Taranto).

“This recognition – added the mayor – is a sign of hope for the future of work in Italy, which must be based on the valorisation of work itself and production, on innovation and on the training of young people”.

Mayor Melucci also expressed his gratitude for the contribution that these workers have provided to Taranto and its territory, underlining how their commitment and dedication have been fundamental to the economic and social development of the city. “They are workers who gave their best for Taranto, and who represented an example for all of us. I hope that this recognition can be a sign of hope for the future of work in Italy and that it can inspire others to follow their example” .
