That the Pontedera will be a guest of Pescara for the first round of the first phase of the playoffs it’s certain: the Granata, after the defeat against Carrarese and Arezzo’s last-minute goal, which gave Cavallino eighth place, closed the regular season in the ninth and, therefore, they will face the sixth, that is, the Abruzzo team.
What wasn’t certain, however, was there date of the play-offs. Initially scheduled for May 4th, the start was postponed to May 7thas communicated by Pro League. Moreover, for the definitive grid, we will have to wait for the outcome of the Taranto’s appeal: the Ionian club, which is not part of the Pontedera group, was in fact penalized by 4 points for administrative reasons.
With those 4 points less, Taranto would start from the early stages of the playoffs; on the contrary, if they were to be reinstated, the team coached by Eziolino Capuano would rise to 69, tied with Avellino, but for direct clashes they would have precedence and, in the end, would go straight through to the second national round. Everything will depend on sentence which should arrive on May 4th.
At that point, the grid would be definitive ei playoffs they could finally begin. For coach Max Canzi’s Pontedera the challenge will not be simple at all: allo Adriatic stadium in Pescaraagainst one of the big of their group, there will only be one useful result to access the second round, namely victory in the 90′. Not even a draw would give hope to the Granata, who would be eliminated due to their worst position in the standings.
