«Thanks to those who waited for me. To those who continued to support me, despite my distance from the stages, to the many people who never stopped loving me despite the fact that I was no longer “around””: Danilo Amerio starts again with the single “And there we are”, released on the 12th April on radio and digital platforms.
A new song ten years after the last album «Love has another color»: «”And there we are” is built around a fundamental thought of the text: “I no longer know how I was without you”, every new love is always a rebirth – says Amerio – “And there we are” is also my sincere thanks to those who have patiently waited for me all this time». It was Amerio’s participation in The Voice Senior, a talent show on Rai 1, that rekindled the spotlight on the talent of a unique and recognizable artist, long away from the stage but never from the score: «I was “embraced” by the public but also by many colleagues – says Amerio – All very happy with my return: this passage on the small screen was enough to understand that people have not forgotten despite me not having been on TV for some time.” «And there we are» is a song with pop dance sounds that Amerio wrote with Alfia Bevilacqua and Olga Kazelko. The song also includes a video, shot by the Turin communications agency «Inde Creative Studio».
And not only that: in parallel with the new single, Amerio has also chosen to publish the songs performed on the stage of The Voice Senior. The artist from Asti reinterprets «Donna con te» and «Scrivimi» by Nino Buonocore, two songs on the Bit Records label, available on platforms and on Spotify. «I decided to reinterpret them given the numerous messages of affection and esteem received on social media from critics and the public – explains Amerio – “Scrivimi” because it is a wonderful piece, one of those that I would have liked to write». But the link with «Donna con te» is even closer, a song that Amerio initially wrote for Patty Pravo and then brought to success by Anna Oxa: «After having written for many colleagues I decided to reappropriate a song that I feel is particularly mine – continues Amerio – because it is one of the pieces that brought me to light, because after “Donna con te” I really started doing many things. Now, for the first time, I have sung it with the original text as it was born.”
New song and revisitations, but without an album on the horizon, at least not immediately: «I would also have a record, but times have changed, albums are no longer made like in the past – continues Amerio – Many are focusing on vinyl , but it’s more of a cult for amateurs. Today the singles are released, one after the other. And I will do the same, although I am toying with the idea of subsequently combining the singles into a collection.”
Meanwhile, while radio and TV appearances continue, Amerio is preparing the summer tour: «I’m already preparing, I’m already busy with rehearsals – confirms Amerio – In the summer I will have a few appointments around Italy, especially in the South I will also return to San Bartolomeo al Mare on 7 July: a return to a square that has given me a lot, where I had already brought the “Danilo Amerio Circus”, a show also presented at the Alfieri Theatre. A date in Asti is not yet scheduled, not in the summer, but I hope to return to concert in my city next season.”
