The championship Torball Serie B with the third and fourth days played in Messina it was the sporting event that illuminated the city in the name of the combination of sporting competition and social inclusion. The event saw the participation of teams from different parts of Italy and was a triumph for the Global Social Inclusive ASD, the organizing association which made its debut in the Messina area, giving the opportunity to host the teams from from Ascoli Piceno, Campobasso, L’Aquila and Scicli, making the event a true crossroads of cultures and experiences.
The mayor Federico Basile and the sports councilor Massimo Finocchiaro took part in the event to demonstrate the closeness of the municipal administration not only to the competitive event but also to demonstrate full sharing in the goals of Global Social Inclusive, led by Antonella Rigano , for the commitment and contribution made to boost Paralympic sport aimed at the blind and visually impaired.
Torball, an innovative and engaging sport, represents a unique opportunity to promote social inclusion, featuring blind and blind players united as a team to test not only their athletic skills but also their ability to collaborate and respect differences. President Rigano thanked Mayor Basile and councilor Finocchiaro for their presence, as a sign of sensitivity towards sport and in particular towards the Paralympic sport.
Thanks were extended to all those who made the event possible, from FISPIC, to the refereeing team who guaranteed the smooth running of the matches; as well as at CIP Sicily, in the persons of the general director Luigi Bentivegna, the regional delegate Giovanni Ciprì and the provincial delegate Francesco Giorgio, for the attention and support shown towards the Global Social Inclusive ASD, each of whom in various capacities demonstrated that the collaboration among organizations is essential to promote the accessibility of sport to all, regardless of ability. Inclusion is at the heart of Torball and any sporting event that promotes diversity and collaboration. “We will continue to work hard so that this message of unity and solidarity can spread more and more widely”, commented the presidency of the association promoting the event.
