LA SPEZIA – The Management Committee of the Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea has approved the final balance sheet for 2023, translating into financial terms the infrastructure programs launched and the institutional activities in the management of the relevant territory.
The budget, prepared by the administrative manager, Lorenzo De Concatargets investments of 57 million euros, of which 40 have already been started in previous years and new ones for 17 million euros, bringing the total for the three-year period to 180 million euros.
All new investments are financed with the organisation’s own resources, confirming the good administrative management which also in 2023, characterized by a fluctuating trend in traffic, highlights a primary management surplus of 6 million euros.
These resources, together with the consistency of those already available, will allow, if necessary also through flexible mortgage operations, to start the important infrastructure investments expected in 2024 and amounting to 164 million euros, of which 30 will be paid by private individuals.
The port proves, once again, to be a decisive driving force for the economic and social development of the city.
President Mario Sommariva thus expressed his great satisfaction with the results achieved in the 2023 final budget: “Beyond the important result achieved with the financial surplus, despite a difficult year, I want to highlight the amount of over 40 million euros liquidated , in 2023, for the progress of the works. This is the concrete demonstration of the unlocking of investments that our System Authority has undertaken through over 180 million legally binding commitments undertaken in the last three years. The port proves, once again, to be a decisive driving force for the economic and social development of the city. A heartfelt thank you to the entire structure and staff of our organization who, with commitment and determination, made these results possible.”
