Another eighteen volunteers have recently “come on board” as part of the municipal Administrative Barter project, and a further three have applied in these hours. Yesterday morning, in the Council Room of Palazzo Mercanti, a representative of the new group of volunteers was received by the administration to listen to useful information relating to the various volunteering activities and to receive municipal supplies: bibs, work gloves and name cards. The meeting was also an opportunity for a greeting to the volunteers by the mayor Katia Tarasconi, the councilor for Participation Serena Groppelli, the general director Luca Canessa and the managers of the Infrastructure and Smart City sectors Giovanni Carini and Dario Naddeo.
The Social Partnership, commonly referred to as Administrative Barter, is a project relaunched last July by the Municipality of Piacenza with the intention of involving citizens in small maintenance, cleaning and care works for public areas, including near the city schools. In exchange for the public utility activities carried out, every single volunteer – even belonging to groups, as long as they reside in the municipal area of Piacenza – will be able to benefit from a tax relief: a 50% discount on the Tari, the waste tax.
