De Finis close to purchasing the club, the Municipality preaches caution

Annino de Finis, Antonio Salandra and other entrepreneurs are forming a consortium open to new stakeholders, interested in purchasing Foggia Calcio. With the championship registration deadline set for June 4, the city is buzzing. Even in suburban supermarkets, housewives jokingly ask employees: “Why don’t you buy Foggia?”.

According to councilor Mimmo Di Molfetta, this is not the time to name names and give numbers. The presidency could go to the well-known entrepreneur in the tourism and construction sector De Finis. Mayor Episcopo, who has already started talks with Canonico, is inviting various personalities to join as members or sponsors, including Tullio Capobianco, Matteo La Torre and Giacomo Mescia.

The administrator underlines the importance of confidentiality in these crucial negotiations: “These are important negotiations,” he simply says, highlighting the risk of excessive pressure from fans on specific entrepreneurs. The financial situation requires facing a debt of 2.4 million euros as of March 31, in addition to the 505 thousand euros necessary for registration, for a total of approximately 3 million euros needed to heal the company.

“There is no football club without debt. Pescara has 19 million, Salernitana 12. We must look at the positive side of this situation. Foggia has no penalty points, it has always paid its registrations and employees on time,” concludes Di Molfetta.
