It was approved today by the majority of the city council Matera (18 in favor and 7 against) the 2023 management reportwhich records a active cash fund of 44 million and an overall administrative result of approximately 55 million (two more than the previous year).

Objective achieved thanks also to wise management of collections, with the recovery of 77% of the assessed amount; 17 percentage points more than in 2020, the year the Bennardi municipal administration took office.

The data were presented to the Council by the Budget Councilor Arcangelo Colella.

On the financial front, the stability of the institution is highlighted, therefore the growth in spending capacity and the constant fight against tax evasion.

In particular, the overall administrative result is equal to approximately 53.5 million, divided into: 25.9 million set aside in funds as required by current legislation; 26.5 million allocated to the party bound by law and/or regulations; 713 thousand euros of surplus intended for investment, and two million of free administration surplus.

Approximately 3.4 million have been allocated to the litigation fund, to address any risks associated with ongoing lawsuits: in 2023, off-balance sheet debts from judgments amounted to 354 thousand euros.

The ability to commit sums of current spending continues to grow.

In fact, out of a total availability of 78 million in 2023, 61 were committed, with a capacity of 78%, 2 percentage points more than in 2022 and 5 compared to 2020.

Demonstrating a continuous and constant improvement in the spending capacity of the municipal offices.

On the tax front, in 2023, 2.6 million more revenues were ascertained compared to the 2022 figure..

In particular, the revenues assessed by the municipal tax increased by 411 thousand euros compared to 2022.

This data also denotes a continuous and constant activity of recovery of municipal revenues, for the benefit of the entire community.

Colella remarked:

“A great result of this Administration.

The numbers contained in this document are the objective demonstration of the goodness of the economic-financial choices, always aimed at improving the living conditions of the citizens of Matera without ever putting the stability of the public accounts at risk”.

Mayor Bennardi is satisfied:

“We invested 3 million on roads, a record.

I thank the councilors of my coalition as well as all the others, because even the opposition can do very important team work in the commission.

To make an estimate, 3 million made it possible to redevelop around 40 kilometers of roads, an investment in favor of safety.

Like the million invested in schools, whose critical issues we know well.

I thank the financial sector and the auditors, then the manager Delia Tommaselli, Dr. Giovinazzi, Dr. Dicuia and all the employees.

Thanks to all of them, we managed to ensure that this Administration always had its accounts in order.”
