The approval of the Cohesion Decree, approved today in the Council of Ministers, will mark a truly epochal turning point for our nation and in particular for the South”.
This was stated in a note to the press by the senator of Brothers of Italy Dominic Matera, group leader of Fdi in the EU Policy Commission, commenting on the Cohesion decree approved today by the Council of Ministers.
There are many measures provided for by this decree – continues Matera – but the South in particular will fill up on resources, with 80% of the expected 75 billion going to the South. Thanks to the reform of Cohesion policies, the government removes the obstacles that in recent years have slowed down the spending of these important resources, causing enormous damage to our country. Among the main measures, on the employment front, we find unprecedented support for employment: with the Youth Bonus, total exemption from social security contributions for employers who hire young people under 35 between 1 July 2024 is guaranteed for 24 months. and 31 December 2025 for a total of 500 euros at national level and 666 euros in the single SEZ of the South. The same applies to women of all ages without work for six months and to workers over 35 in SEZ areas. Finally, the “Infrastructural Equalization Fund” returns, to reduce the infrastructure gap between the South and the rest of Italy with an allocation of 50 million euros in 2024, 140 million in 2025 and 100 million per year from 2027 to 2033. Furthermore , the “Resto al Sud” program will be refinanced, offering incentives between 40,000 and 200,000 euros per year from 2027 to 2033 to start entrepreneurial activities and freelance professions.
As regards schools, the roles of the 6,147 school collaborators hired on a fixed-term basis to support the Pnnr and Agenda Sud projects have been renewed, thanks to an additional allocation which confirms that the government keeps its promises.
An epochal change in approach – concludes Matera – which shows how the Meloni government is really working to change Italy”.
