Anti-abortion pressure, a question has been filed in the Chamber

The AVS deputy group leader: Minister Roccella should examine her conscience

A parliamentary question to the Ministry of Health was submitted to the Chamber regarding reports from the Women’s Center against Violence in Aosta on alleged interference against abortion by staff present in public health facilities.

The deputy group leader of the Green and Left Alliance in the Chamber, Marco Grimaldi, explains in a note: «Women approached with the promise of milk and diapers, others induced to listen to the heartbeat of the fetus, psychological terrorism to dissuade them from a difficult and painful choice. It happens in Aosta, reported through the Anti-violence Center by various women who went to public facilities to undergo voluntary termination of pregnancy. Were gynecologists and operators careless? Or volunteers from “pro-life” associations, or rather anti-abortionists foaming at the mouth? It must be clarified immediately – continues Grimaldi -. But the use of the Pnrr to open the doors of counseling centers to them is an attack on all women. Minister Roccella should examine her conscience.”

European candidate Andrea John Déjanaz also speaks on the topic. «It is time for the European Union to establish a financial mechanism that guarantees access to pregnancy termination, as the My Voice, My Choice campaign calls for, and that not a single euro of European funds is managed by anti-abortion associations».
