News for those who were still thinking about a barbecue or a picnic: it’s official now, it will be May Day with bad weather in Turin and the whole of Piedmont, with wind, temperatures between 11 and 12 degrees and rain, even intense in the afternoon, so much so that Harp Piedmont has established for the day theyellow alert. For workers’ day demonstrations, an umbrella and a k-way are a must.

The latest forecasts speak of one c100% cloud cover over the city and widespread rain, weaker in the morning, heavy in the afternoon, with values ​​that may exceed 5 mm per hour. Temperatures will not rise above 12 degrees, but the “perceived cold” will also have to take into account the wind with variable intensity between 7 and 30 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 32 km/h. The weather will also be unstable in the following days, with strong thunderstorms expected on Thursday, particularly near the Alpine valleys and on the adjacent plains.

In the mountains, however, in the next 48 hours, new and heavy snowfalls could arrive across much of the Piedmontese Alps, with an accumulation expected by Friday of over one meter of fresh snow above 2,500 meters and then falling towards 1,400-1,600 meters on the high valleys of Susa, Lanzo, Canavese, Biellese, Sesia and Ossola.
