ANCONA – The Mother and Child Department of the Marche University Hospital is equipped with latest generation hysteroscopic instruments, thanks to the generous donation of Magazzini Gabrielli, historic supporter of the Salesi Onlus Hospital Foundation.

In fact, Magazzini Gabrielli donated 29 thousand euros, an amount which allowed the purchase of a miniaturized outpatient operational hysteroscopy system – Betocchi System. The instrumentation allows on an outpatient basis to carry out diagnostic activities but above all operational interventions in the gynecological field which, otherwise, would have to be carried out under sedation in an operating room.

“We are happy – declared Barbara Gabrielli, Communications Manager of Magazzini Gabrielli SPA – that the collaboration with the Salesi Foundation allows us, also in this case, to contribute to the realization of important objectives. In the recent past, we intervened in support of a project dedicated to patients, between zero and six years old, suffering from Eating Disorders (DCA). This time, our contribution goes towards the purchase of important diagnostic and intervention equipment for the Salesi Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, in favor of female well-being. The method in question will allow the diagnostic and operational examination to be simplified and made more comfortable for all women, especially young women in the development phase and of childbearing age: it is, therefore, a notable improvement in the healthcare provision in the Marche , which translates into an overall increase in the quality of life in our territories”.

Miniaturized operative hysteroscopy or mini outpatient resectoscopy is one of the endoscopic examinations that do not require anesthesia and allows for in-depth investigation inside the uterine cavity through an optical system with a diameter of a few millimeters (2mm). A method which, by making the procedure less invasive, allows for a more comfortable examination for women and above all to associate the diagnostic time with an operative surgical action.

Hysteroscopic instruments allow “the execution of operations for the correction of malformations in the uterine area and the removal of polyps and fibroids, without traumatizing the cervix” explains Professor Andrea Ciavattini, Director of the SOD Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the hospital. University of the Marche -. Being very thin instruments, they allow the uterus to be treated without damaging its functionality, but rather improving it.” Professor Ciavattini specifies that mini hysteroscopy instruments can be used both on adult women, even in menopause, and on young women “guaranteeing the integrity of the organs crossed, allowing in fact to treat the cervical canal with a containment action in view of future pregnancies,” concludes the head physician.

The Salesi Onlus Hospital Foundation, represented by the President Cinzia Cocco and the director Laura Mazzanti, expresses “particular gratitude for the sensitivity shown by Magazzini Gabrielli towards the Mother and Child Department of the University Hospital of the Marche”. “An important reality in our territory, that of the Magazzini Gabrielli – highlights the Foundation – which has been at our side for years and supports us in guaranteeing an ever-increasing quality of care provided to patients”.
