Truffles, here is the harvest calendar in force in Emilia Romagna

The Regional Council of Emilia Romagna has adopted the calendar for truffle hunting and harvesting in Emilia-Romagnaaccording to the following table, which presents new elements compared to the previous ones, including: the postponement of the start of the harvest of various species to October 1st and the distinction between the harvesting periods of scorzone (Tuber aestivum) which, although always starting on 1st June, suspends the harvesting at different periods in the plains (from 1st August to 19th September in the Piacenza area) and in the hills (from 16th August to 19th September ).

It should be noted that between 1st and 31st May the collection of any species is not permitted in the regional territory.

The new Calendar is characterized by the identification of two periods of total suspension of truffle research and harvesting activities (from 1 to 31 May and from 16 August to 30 September) aimed at guaranteeing two periods of biological rest for the undergrowth.
The new seasonal harvesting of Tuber aestivum is aimed at avoiding the accidental harvesting of fiorone which is already significantly present in the lowland areas at the beginning of August.
