Crotone, positions that make us imagine new majorities

CROTONE Positionings that make us imagine new majorities. The delegation assigned by the president of the Province, Sergio Ferrari, to the president of the Crotone municipal council, Mario Megna, in his capacity as provincial councilor is one of the signals that suggests the birth of a new majority. A policy in motion, therefore, which could have brought the positions of the president of the Calabrian regional council, Mario Occhiuto, closer to the mayor of Crotone, Vicenzo Voce, and therefore to the president of the Pythagorean province, Sergio Ferrari, Occhiuto’s loyalist. There is not only the sign of the nomination of Megna, who in the Municipality is one of the strengths of the majority that supports Voce. There are statements from Voce himself who claims to be moving in perfect harmony with Ferrari and there is the courtesy visit that President Occhiuto wanted to pay to Mayor Voce on the occasion of the provincial congress of Forza Italia. Occhiuto kept the congressmen waiting, causing the start of the congressional debate to be postponed because first he wanted to greet and pay homage to Voce. Megna’s nomination to the Province is the latest sign of the new political positions. What accelerated a process already underway was, however, the return to the field of the former regional president Mario Oliverio, who put himself at the head of the movement that is fighting to have the poisons present in the industrial area of Crotone out of Calabria, as sanctioned by the Decision-Making Services Conference of 24 October 2019. Oliverio’s return is obviously not welcome either by the current team that administers Calabria, nor by its historical allies nor by the mayor of Crotone. There has never been harmony between Voce and Oliverio and the clashes between the two are dated. Lately there has been back and forth on the issue of the areal pressure index. Voce accused Oliverio of not having posed the areal pressure index and Oliverio replied by reminding the mayor that he had approved the pressure index and at the same time accused him of not having said a word about the new regional waste plan, approved recently, which totally eliminated the pressure index introduced by its council. At this point Voce wrote to Occhiuto asking him to introduce the areal pressure constraint. Occhiuto did not respond personally, but did so through his structure by accepting his request. In essence he announced that he had given instructions to start the process. It is completely clear, therefore, that an alliance was born between Occhiuto and Voce, cemented by the idea of forming a common front to prevent Oliverio from returning to the field.
