Eight young readers from Carpi at the Turin Culture Book Fair
Descriptive text here

Eight young people from Carpi will be protagonists at the 36th edition of the Turin International Book Fair: they are the participants in the “Book Club” reading group of the “Loria” library, invited by the organizers of the event. The librarian who coordinates the group sent the application for the “At the Salone da Protagonisti” project last December and the eight, who are between 14 and 19 years old, were selected to take care of one of the events conducted by the youth reading groups and in-depth studies, coming from eight regions.

The group, made up of girls and boys, has given itself a new name for the occasion and appears in the program as “Book(read)ing.com”: on Monday 13 May it will host a live conversation with Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem, writer and Belgian producer, dedicated to his latest novel, “Testa di ferro” (Camelozampa editore). In front of an audience of peers – the meeting is in fact part of the events dedicated to schools – the spokesperson of the reading group and the other members of the group will dialogue directly with the guest. The Carpi reading group was born in 2021 and includes monthly meetings in the library, open to young people who want to share their readings.
