In the postponement of the Monday evening of the 24th day of the CSEN “Old Boys” senior provincial championship of Bari, on the “Capirro Sport Village” sports field in Trani, the teams from Borgorosso Bisceglie and Borgorosso Bari. The Bari team, namesake of the Bisceglie team, third in the standings but without two disqualified players including Milloni, top scorer of the tournament, demonstrated their technical qualities, but found themselves up against the team led by Umberto Di Liddo who, beyond of the far too severe final result, she was always in the game, creating several dangers prevented by the opposing goalkeeper. Mister Di Liddo, without De Palo, Pasculli and Tesse, deployed (4-3-3) Antonio La Notte in goal, the defense with Troilo, Leuci, Evangelista and Korchishvili, in midfield Acquaviva with Caprioli and Leo La Notte, in attack Dell’Olio on the right, Lavolpicella as center forward and Captain Rana on the left.

It took fifteen minutes of play to see the first great scoring opportunity, with Dell’Olio hitting a strong volley on the counterattack, but the ball just flew over the crossbar. Missed goal, goal conceded. The Bari team scored a minute later directly from a free kick. In the 20th minute Rana’s left-footed volley deserved better luck, as did Caprioli’s deflection into the opponent’s area which ended wide one minute later. In the 30th minute, however, Lavolpicella’s strong shot in the area found its way winning deflection by Pepé Dell’Olio for the well-deserved 1-1. So far the match has been balanced and full of emotions.

In the second half, in the 11th minute, one minute after entering the field, Ventura passed Lavolpicella in the penalty area with a cross from the left but the volley ended a few centimeters wide. A few minutes after the great chance, the Bisceglie team was punished with another free kick from the Bari team, this time from a very tight angle. At 16′ Borgorosso Bari struck again, this time on the counterattack, to make it 1-3. Di Terlizzi, Mr. Di Liddo and Parisi entered the field but in the 27th minute the Bari team scored the fourth goal. The chances of Leuci and Di Liddo, both with headers in the opponent’s area, demonstrated the readiness of the opposing goalkeeper. In full recovery Borgorosso Bari scored the goal to make it 1-5. Thus ended a match that deserved a better outcome due to the many opportunities created and not capitalized and for a few goals conceded that could have been avoided with greater attention.
