Investigations closed into the murder of Davide Buzzi, the 42-year-old killed on the evening of last September 1st at the Big Town bar in via Bologna, in Ferrara, after a violent scuffle with the 41-year-old Vito Mauro Di Gaetanoowner of the restaurant, and his father, the 70-year-old Joseph, both in prison today. The death of Davide Buzzi at the Big Town bar in Ferrara

According to the accusatory castle, Mauro Di Gaetano would have initially hit on the head with several liquor bottles it’s a wrench Buzzi who, once kneeling, was wounded numerous times in the face and body by switchblade with a blade of about ten centimeters who held the other Di Gaetano. The victim then, after receiving another bottle blow to the head, tried to lean on the bar counter while staggering, but it was precisely at that moment that she was attacked again by the bar owner who, clutching in his hands a padlock weighing approximately one kilohe would still be furious with him, lashing out at him between 37 and 38 blows to the headmost of which were inflicted when he was already on the ground, lying on the floor.

The two owners of the restaurant accused of complicity in murder

Shortly thereafter he would die from mechanical asphyxiation following inhalation of the own blood. Mauro Di Gaetano would have used the same “weapons” used on the 42-year-old to confront him Lorenzo Piccinini, in turn stabbed by Giuseppe Di Gaetano. The 21-year-old risked losing his life, were it not for the fact that, the blade did not affect his vital organs and help arrived promptly, called by the bar owner upon Buzzi’s threat, in the moments before he was lethally attacked. From victim to suspect, currently imprisoned in Modena prison, too Piccinini has now ended up in trouble. He must now answer for the crime of extortion against Mauro Di Gaetano since, with Buzzi, it would have forced him to pay the monthly sum of 3,000 euros using violence and threats.

The death of his stepson and revenge with extortion

August 25th in fact, according to what it is the accusatory system, the victim had already threatened and beaten the owner of the Big Town, whom he had forced to pay the “protection money” by September 25th, to prevent his place from burning down. The reason for this hatred is to be found in the death of Buzzi’s stepsonthe 19 year old Edoardo Bovini, who lost his life in the night between 12 and 13 August right in front of the restaurant in via Bologna. In that circumstance, already suffering from one cardiac pathologythe young man fell ill after taking cocaine and, according to his stepfather, Mauro Di Gaetano was late in calling for help. A denied circumstance subsequently by the prosecutor’s investigations, also because Di Gaetano was not in Ferrara that evening.

The “accomplice” miraculously saved and was also under investigation

He therefore decided to take justice for that loss, during the evening of September 1st, Accompanied by Piccinini, Bovini’s cousin, Buzzi chose the path of fear, showing up at the Big Town with a tank full of petrol. Giuseppe Di Gaetano saw the two arrive he tried to ask for explanations about that gesture but, in response, he was attacked: the 42-year-old elbowed, punched and kicked him, making him fall to the ground twice, while the 21-year-old, in ordering him to leave the bar with arrogance, he would have hit him in turn with kicks, also throwing a bottle at him. However, the collection of the “protection money” was unsuccessful: Vito Mauro and Giuseppe Di Gaetano reacted to that violence and attacked Buzzi and Piccinini with equal ardor, massacring the first and seriously wounding the second, who was saved only by a miracle.
