The eagerly awaited match 1 on Monday night goes to the Bisceglie Lions who win at home 74 to 66, thus gaining the first important point of the national Serie B playout series, the best of five matches. Heavy victory for the Apulians who have always led the way, making their physicality count.
Yesterday’s match seemed like a photocopy of the previous two seen in the regular season, with Vicenza in the game but unable to launch the decisive blow due to the fragility of its attack. But we are just at the beginning. Tomorrow at 6.30 pm and again at the PalaDolmen we return to the parquet for game 2.
Whoever wins the series is saved and retains the category.
The loser will have to go through a second round, the last resort to try to achieve salvation, facing the loser of the other playout match in group B, the one between Padova and Ozzano. Last night the former Chiti player was decisive for Bisceglie with 23 points and Abati Toure’ in great form both in the scoring and rebounding phases.
For Civitus only Cucchiaro was able to sting. Too little to hope for anything good. Tomorrow at 6.30pm game 2 with basketball commentary live on Riccardo’s Facebook page.
