Milan has announced the participation of Women’s First Team to the friendly tournament Her Nations Tour, which will be held in Mexico from 9 to 16 June. The trip to North America will represent the first post-season tour in the history of the Rossonere and will officially conclude the 2023/24 football season.
Her Nations Tour is a new tournament that will see three football clubs – AC Milan, Club Rayadas de Monterrey and Tuzas de Pachuca – compete in a series of friendly matches in Mexico. In addition to representing a high-level sporting competition for the teams involved, the tournament also aims to present itself as an opportunity to promote the growth of women’s football on a global level, with the aim of contributing to the realization of its full potential through the strength of female footballers in the world, as better explained in the official motto of the tournament, “This is Her Sport, this is Her Tour – it’s time to change the game.”
The tournament will be an important opportunity for sharing values such as inclusion and equality in the international football scene – values that have always been shared by the AC Milan family and further concretized through the creation of the Women’s First Team in 2018.
With participation in the Her Nations TourAC Milan will therefore return to the American continent, after having already played in the Women’s Cup in Louisville, in the United States in August 2022 – a tournament which ended for the Rossonere with the final for third place, which they lost to Club America.
This tour will also be a new opportunity for the Rossoneri Club to enhance its women’s team, creating new opportunities for growth from a sporting point of view and international visibility, in a country that demonstrates a great passion for the Rossoneri colours. In detail, Milan has approximately 23.7 million Rossoneri fans in that geographical area, with 1.9 million followers on the Club’s official social networks.
The tour featuring the Rossoneri will include a series of high-profile matches against some of Mexico’s best clubs. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 – vs Club Rayadas de Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon
The first match on Mexican soil will see the Rossoneri take on Club Rayadas de Monterrey on Wednesday 12 June at the BBVA Stadium, Monterrey’s new 50,000-seat facility.
Saturday, June 15, 2024 – vs Tuzas de Pachuca in Pachuca, Hidalgo
Davide Corti’s team will then fly to Pachuca for the second match of the friendly tournament scheduled for Saturday 15 June at the Hidalgo Stadium, when Milan will take the field against Tudos de Pachuca.
The presence of AC Milan, with the women’s first team, in a strategic territory such as the American continent will offer the Club a further opportunity in continuing its growth path, strengthening the positive perception of its brand at an international level.
