The list will also be present at the next Piedmontese regional elections Popular Piedmontwith the regional councilor Francesca Frediani presidential candidate.
The project was born from the commitment of Potere al Popolo, Rifondazione Comunista, Sinistra Anticapitalista, ManifestA and a component of independent representatives of civil society, with the support of the students protagonists in the last months of the mobilizations against the genocide of the Palestinian people.
We want to propose a real alternative to the factions that have taken turns at the helm of the institutions, at various levels, demonstrating substantial continuity between the right and the centre-left, if not actual collaboration, with respect to policies that have a devastating impact on the lives of citizens: health, rights, work and the environment first and foremost.
Our path is clearly defined by the desire to support a vision of the future free from the war-mongering drift which is also developing through the progressive replacement of our economy with a war economy, with the growing use of public resources, as evidenced by the participation of our Region to finance a NATO centre.
For this reason the theme of peace finds central space both in our symbol and in the program that we will propose to citizens. As usual, a truly alternative proposal that is foreign to the hegemonic political alignments in the country, intending to present itself outside of the right and center-left coalitions, encounters great difficulties even just being able to participate. In fact, due to the ambiguity in the interpretation of the Piedmontese electoral law, although we believe we have full rights, we are not currently certain that we will be allowed to present the lists without going through the collection of signatures. For this reason we will still collect signatures throughout the region.
