The president of the Puglia Region, Michele Emilianowas summoned by Anti-Mafia Commission in Rome for Thursday 2 May at 10.30. The Governor therefore asked for a postponement to coincide with the vote of confidence in his new executive, after the reshuffle of recent weeks.

«I only asked for a postponement – said Emiliano -. I read some press agency releases in which they refer to my alleged unavailability at the hearing at the anti-mafia parliamentary commission. The circumstance is false and misrepresented. To this end, I had fortunately sent a letter to the president of the Anti-Mafia Commission asking her to keep my hearing separate from the debate in the Regional Council on the no-confidence vote to avoid the exploitation of the parliamentary investigative act with the activity of the Regional Council, to avoid media maneuvers that I see are regularly occurring.”

From the parliamentary body – as reported by ANSA – a harsh reply was received: «The president of Puglia Michele Emiliano cannot avoid coming to the hearing in the Anti-Mafia commission», some members of the commission had commented.
