Spirituality: Chiari, Saturday and Sunday the second interregional path of the Brotherhoods of Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April Chiari, in the province and diocese of Brescia, hosted the II interregional Journey of the Confraternities of Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria. On Saturday 27 April, at the Youth Center 2000, a study conference was held on the theme “Lay female associations in the Confraternities” which saw Simona Negruzzo from the University of Pavia and Luciano Venzano from the G. Study Center as speakers. Casareto of Genoa, Franca Minazzoli and Msgr. Michele Pennisi, archbishop emeritus of Monreale and assistant of the Confederation of the Confraternities of the dioceses of Italy, with the moderation of Bruno Barberis of the University of Turin.
On the evening of Christmas Eve he arrived in the Cathedral of SS. Faustino and Giovita the icon “Mary Mother of Hope and the Confraternities” carried in procession by the Claren brothers of the SS. Sacrament.

Monsignor Pennisi informed of the initiatives planned this year in preparation for the Jubilee of the Confraternities which will take place from 16 to 18 May 2025. Among these the symphony of prayers of the Wolrd Rosary Day on 7 October and the national pilgrimage to the sanctuary of San Giovanni Round on 9 and 10 November 2024.
On Sunday 28 April, after the greetings of Valentino Mirto, general secretary of the Confederation of the Confraternities of the dioceses of Italy, the Eucharistic celebration in the cathedral of Chiari presided over by Msgr. Pierantonio Tremolada, bishop of Brescia, and concelebrated by Msgr. Pennisi, by the assistants of the Confraternities of Liguria, Lombardy and Piedmont and by the rectors of the Confraternities present. In the homily, the bishop of Brescia underlined the vocation of the members of the Confraternities to be missionary disciples and witnesses of the joy of the Risen One.

Following the walk through the streets of the city with the grandiose crucifixes of the Ligurian tradition and the icon of the Confraternities which left Pompeii on 3 June 2023 and will cross the dioceses of the Lombard ecclesiastical region until 19 May.
Finally at 3.30 pm the conclusion with the solemn vespers presided over by Msgr. Claudio Carboni, assistant of the Confraternities of Lombardy, and the greeting to the SS. Sacrament placed in the majestic “Forty Hours Machine” set up in the cathedral for the occasion.
Present were around seventy brotherhoods from the dioceses of Albenga-Imperia, Genoa, La Spezia, Savona, Tortona, Turin, Cuneo-Fossano, Novara, Biella, Acqui, Milan, Vigevano, Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Mantua.
