Messina, successes for Grima and Minutoli in the Sprint Championship

Unique emotions at Kartodromo of Messina in the third test valid for the 2024 Interprovincial Sprint Championship. The event organized by did not disappoint expectations Karting Club Messina of the manager Duilio Petrullo, as part of the collaboration with the Ispica track, giving the public an incredible show. Pietro Grima And Antonio Minutoli the winners, respectively, of Race 1 and Race 2, while Massimiliano D’Angelo he did an encore in the F3 category.

Race 1

27 drivers faced each other on the track in the heat reserved for both F1 and F2, 17 in the one concerning the “Rookies”, for a total of 44. After the briefing and the draw of the karts, the 8′ qualifying sessions determined the pole position in Race1 by Andrea Alberti with a time of 37.487. Pietro Grima completes the front row. Regular start, with the expert Alberti doing well to maintain the lead over Grima, immediately behind Fusco and Tappa. On lap eighteen Alberti is still in the lead, ahead of Grima, then Fusco, Raffaele and Tappa. Ranking revolutionized following the pit stop waltz. Grima leaps into the lead after an initial waiting period, while Alberti loses ground. Pietro Grima rejoices at the checkered flag, while Valentino Fusco takes second place at 3.307, Lorenzo Tappa third at 9.924. Fourth was an excellent Denis Raffaele (+5 compared to the grid), returning to the races, fifth Fabrizio Anello, who gained six positions from the start, then Mario Barbaro, Sara La Fauci, Luigi Pizzuti, Sebastian Arnò and Davide Campione. Andrea Alberti slipped to the rear (13th), but authored the best lap in 37.466. For F2 the podium was made up, in order, of Antonio Bartolotta, Federico Scimone and Alessandro Maggio.

Race 2

Race 2 turns out to be vibrant from start to finish. Pole hit by Pietro Grima in 37.433. Mario Barbaro is second. The fight becomes close from the early stages. Grima sees himself followed by Bartolotta and Barbaro. Campione passes Tappa behind the leading trio. After the break Bartolotta takes the lead from Grima, Barbaro third, then Minutoli who however begins to build his comeback. The result is a long, open and exciting battle for final victory. Minutoli-Grima-Fusco the situation on the twenty-seventh lap. Anello, who had been close to fourth place, was the victim of a spin, but did not give up and tried to make up ground. At the finish line Minutoli celebrates as he extends his lead and wins at the finish line, immense satisfaction for him, prevailing over Valentino Fusco, at 1,671, in a ranking characterized by several penalties. Third Pietro Grima, at 10,156. Fourth was Sebastian Arnò, followed by Andrea Alberti (+11 on the start), then Fabrizio Anello, Mario Barbaro (best lap in 37.426), Davide Campione, Lorenzo Tappa, Sara La Fauci and Riccardo Bartolotta. Also noteworthy are the performances of Riccardo Irrera and Federico Miduri. In F2 “toast” to Alice Di Bella, who beats the competition of Antonio Bartolotta and Alessandro Maggio, second and third, climbing to the top step of the podium.

F3

In F3, Massimiliano D’Angelo shines in qualifying for Race 1 (38.092) as he takes pole and becomes the absolute protagonist, celebrating the victory at the end of the 36 laps. Behind him Onofrio Balastro, second at 1,768, then Ernesto Leopardi (best lap 37,931), Simone Bongiorno, Giuseppe Greco, Andrea Brusca and Gaetano Minuto. In Race2, pole achieved by Leopardi in 37.914, but success achieved again by Massimiliano D’Angelo, preceding the finish line by Giuseppe Greco (best lap in 37.705) and Nicola Anastasi, then Leopardi, Brusca, Bongiorno, Ganci and Minuto. Finally, awards were given to the top three finishers in the F1, F2 and F3 categories, as well as for the overall “best lap” of the event and pole position. Scores assigned 100% on this occasion for the purposes of the general classification of the internal Championship with only the races held on the Kartodromo of Messina, while the sum derived from the scores between Race1 and Race2 is useful for the Interprovincial Sprint Championship which will take place on June 29th the fourth and final act of the season in Ispica.
