Tournament of the regions, Calabria protagonist

REGGIO CALABRIA The quarter-finals of the 5-a-side football regions tournament in Calabria close with the matches played in the afternoon. Added to the morning’s results are the successes of Calabria, Puglia, Sardinia and Veneto in the women’s and of Calabria, Piemonte VdA, Sardinia and Sicily for the men’s Under 19 to complete the picture of the semi-finals scheduled for tomorrow in the two Lazzaro di Lazzaro arenas /Motta SG and Pianeta Viola of Reggio Calabria. Still the penalties on Calabria’s path, but this time they smile on the women’s representative who thus redeems the Under 15’s exit this morning. Mister Zema’s girls will thus find Puglia again (KO 3-2 on the last day), which had been missing from the top four since 2016. The match will be played at 3pm at the Lazzaro di Lazzaro/Motta SG sports hall. With the 6-2 victory over Lazio, Sardinia reaches the second semi-final in its history against the reigning champions Veneto at the Pianeta Viola in Reggio Calabria. Kick-off for this match is also at 3pm.

In the Under 19 category, Calabria and Sicily are confirmed as the finalists of the last edition, while Piedmont VdA and Sardinia were missing from the appointment since 2018 and 2013 respectively. There are 10 Regions represented among the 16 representatives positioned among the best four in each category (doubles for Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont VdA, Sardinia, Sicily and Veneto), demonstrating the high technical value demonstrated by the amateur movement as a whole.
