RAGUSA – Last April 28, 2024, the 3rd third stage of the Libertas regional swimming championship took place in Ragusa, at the municipal swimming pool. Beautiful day full of emotions in which the EuroSportNew company of Mussomeli once again represented the territory of the Sicani Mountains. An ever-growing team: numerous boys capable of conquering the podium and numerous medals this time too.
Stratospheric was the little Strazzeri Soley, class of 2018 from Mussomeli, who won 4 golds in 25 m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly in 4 races.
The talent of Casteltermini Mattaliano Calogero improves further: gold in the 25m freestyle, 25m breaststroke, 25m butterfly and silver in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
The little Caltabellotta Biagio from Lercara Friddi also did well, winning 2 bronzes in the 25 freestyle and the 25 breaststroke, as well as the gold in the 4×25 freestyle relay.
The talented Vincenzo Munì from Mussomeli was unsurpassed in the backstroke, earning gold and silver in the 25m butterfly and gold in the 4×25 freestyle relay.
Applause also for Viscuso Rosario from Vallelunga Pratameno: bronze in the 100 medley, silver in the 25 breaststroke and silver in the 4×50 freestyle relay.
After a lot of work, the podium arrives for the very good Sorce Giuseppe from Mussomeli, capable of climbing to the top step of the podium in the 25 breaststroke specialty. So gold in the 25m breaststroke and silver in the 50m breaststroke, bronze in the 25m freestyle and silver in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
There is also glory for Viscuso Giorgia from Vallelunga Pratameno who reaches the podium for the first time. Very good at winning her first medal and first experience in a 50m race: she won bronze in the 50m backstroke.
Despite the little training due to health problems, the very young Alduinio Gioacchino from Lercara Friddi still managed to bring in medals: bronze in the 25 butterfly and silver in the 4×50 freestyle relay.
Little De Francesco Alessandro from Lercara Friddi is improving a lot. His times improved and together with his teammates he managed to win gold in the 4 × 25 freestyle relay.
The same goes for Strazzeri Jhoshua from Mussomeli: he too manages to improve a lot and contribute to winning gold in the 4×25 freestyle relay.

Satisfaction for the team president, Marianna Nola, for the many medals brought home by her members. Coach Vincenzo Lombino is super satisfied with the results obtained by a group that once again proved to be very united.
“Despite the kids coming from different communities – explains Lombino – they managed to find union and understanding. This helps a lot in training and in the sacrifices to be made in the pool. It’s nice to see them laugh, joke and at the same time suffer when there are hard training sessions. A beautiful group, starting from the parents, the kids, the president. Many other promising players from the area will join the team. Now we’re waiting for the next race: we’re waiting for the official communication on the date and venue.”
