A 5-year-old child suffered a serious illness while he was at the nursery in Via Mille, triggering moments of panic among the staff and other children. The teachers, immediately realizing the critical situation, promptly activated emergency services. The facility staff called 118, tried to contact the child’s parents and began the first rescue efforts, while other staff members took care of keeping the other children away from the scene so as not to scare them further.
An ambulance quickly arrived on site, located in the center of Aprilia. Given the seriousness of the situation and the age of the child, the medical staff also decided to alert a helicopter for emergency transport to the Bambin Gesù pediatric hospital, the only suitable facility for the case.
The air ambulance arrived in the city shortly afterwards, with the landing area in the park on Via Mille appropriately isolated thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri. In the meantime, the rescuers have stabilized the child, who seems to have recovered after the first moment of fear. Subsequently, he was transported by helicopter to the Bambin Gesù pediatric hospital, where he will remain hospitalized as a precaution.
