The Windsurfer Olbia Spring cup has ended
It ended on Sunday 28 April Windsurfer Olbia Spring cupthe hosts of Nautical club they win with the sirocco. The satisfaction of the Olbiense association for the perfect success of the event is accompanied by the joy of sporting success. The athletes, coming from different nations thanks to the “open” formula, competed in weather conditions variable and sometimes very harsh. Saturday was particularly busy. The reinforcement of sciroccowith gusts up to 30 knotsput the technical skills and physical endurance of the participants to the test.
The winners and the podium
Eight races in total, three carried out on Friday and Saturday and two on the last day of the regatta.
In the category Lightweight: he took the top step of the podium Alessandro Torzoni of the Olbia Nautical Club, in front of Luca Frascari of the East Bay Yachting Club of Anzio and others Pietro Massini of the Stamura Physical Education Society.
Category Heavy first place was won Davide Gessa of the Olbia Nautical Club, followed by Edward Thermes of the Sabazia Sailing Association and, in third place, by David Pezzini of the Nimbus Surfing Club.
In the category Women took 1st place on the podium Bruna Ferracaneof Club Albaria, reigning world champion, followed by Silvia Ghigliazza of the Cogoleto Sailing Club
President Mario Peralda during the festive awards ceremony he wanted to thank the Municipality of Olbia and the Sports councilor again Elena Casu. But also the Italian Sailing Federation through the president of the Third Zone, Corrado Faraand the president of the Italian Windsurfer Class Luca Frascari. Who expressed sincere words of praise for the perfect organization of the event, opening up to the possible arrival in our city of the European or even world championships of this Class. These latter events are capable of involving 250/300 athletes from all the nations of the world with imaginable consequences in economic and image terms on the territory”.
