Present at the inauguration were various local institutions from the regional councilor Giuseppe Licata, the president of the Province Marco Magrini, to the Varese councilors Roberto Molinari and Nicoletta San Martino, as well as the municipal councilors Guido Bonoldi and Manuela Lozza and the provost Monsignor Luigi Panighetti.

«19 panels, 4 months of work to set up this exhibition which tells the story of a man who left an important mark in the city of Varese, from a social, civil and artistic point of view because he restored 3 of the most important churches and above all Christian because he the Varese community grew significantly in years in which it was not easy to manage the turmoil that shook Varese and beyond”.

«This exhibition – explained Monsignor Panighetti – was born in December 2023 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the death of Monsignor Manfredini. Regarding his figure, I think that some basic, pastoral choices from the role of provost of Varese were chosen with an enviable foresight, of which we still feel the beneficial impact of him.”

«His presence was prophetic – the councilor commented Roberto Molinari – because the particular attention he had, not only in the restoration of churches or in the promotion of new buildings, but also and above all on the educational level because it is not possible to think of starting actions and works if there is no educational path and in this respect it has educated generations of Varese citizens and I believe this is one of the most important legacies for the city, also in its socio-political commitment”.

The exhibition, which traces in particular the experience of the monsignor as provost of Varese from 1963 to 1969, will remain open until Monday 6 May every day from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm, continuous hours from 10am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Free admission.

Subsequently the exhibition will be rearranged in the main hall of the Manfredini Schools in Olona.
