Earthquake shock in the Campi Flegrei at 7.44pm. The earthquake was 1.6 kilometers deep.

An earthquake was recorded in Phlegraean Fields this afternoon, around 7.44 pm. The seismographs of the Vesuvian Observatory of the INGV, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, identified the earthquake at a depth currently estimated at 1.6 kilometres. The epicenter was currently located between the municipality of Pozzuoli and the Bagnoli neighborhood in Naples. The magnitude has not yet been released. At the moment there has been no damage to property or people.

The Vesuvian Observatory announced that “starting from 7.44 pm a sequence of seismic events is underway in the Campi Flegrei area with a preliminary maximum magnitude Md = 2.0 ±0.3. The Municipal Administration together with the Civil Protection of the municipality of Pozzuoli, we read in a note, “closely follows the evolution of the ongoing seismic sequence and will provide subsequent updates until the phenomenon is concluded”.
