Good first match for Nutribullet Treviso Basket at the Under 19 National Finals in Chiusi and Chianciano Terme. In the debut match of group D, the boys coached by Mirco Saccardo and Mattia Francescon beat Assigeco Casalpusterlengo 87-77 with a good team effort. Three in double figures for TVB: 20 for Torresani, 16 for Scandiuzzi and 14 for captain Tadiotto. Tomorrow we return to the field at 6pm with the loser of the other match in the group between Victoria Libertas Pesaro and Firenze Basketball Academy.

The boys coached by Mirco Saccardo and Mattia Francescon had an uphill start, as after Pellizzari’s basket they suffered a partial score of 0-8 with two triples from Gallo. Captain Tadiotto tries to charge his teammates into the stands, and the Nutribullet begins to gnaw away point after point until 16-16. Two baskets from Scandiuzzi are worth the overtaking of TVB, Spinazzè’s bomb is +7, with Nutribullet finding excellent percentages from the field. Casalpusterlengo’s reaction comes once again from Gallo, but Pellizzari’s triple at the siren seals the 30-23 which closes the first quarter of the game.
Treviso’s percentages drop, Gherardini enters the game and the overtaking is served (37-39). Angarica widens the gap to two possessions, but TVB scores a 9-0 run to regain command of the operations: Torresani finds a lay-up and then the assist for the comfortable support of Spinazzè on the scoreboard, De Marchi places the triple of 46-41. Gherardini scores points 12 and 13 of his evening, but another burst from Torresani allows Nutribullet to end the first half ahead 48-43 with a good team effort despite Gallo’s 15 points and Gherardini’s 13.
Tedoldi finds the first points of the second half for Assigeco, Tadiotto’s two baskets and Torresani’s chocolate for Scandiuzzi (first in double figures for TVB) put Nutribullet ahead by 7 at the start of the third quarter. Torresani’s 3/3 from the line makes it 57-48 for Treviso, but Casalpusterlengo doesn’t give up, Gallo and Conti immediately close the gap, Gherardini’s tap-in brings Assigeco even to -3. TVB reacts with four points in a row from Martin, Iacopini responds to the basket with a foul from Gherardini, Tadiotto’s eurostep brings Treviso back to +8, but Assigeco’s outburst brings the teams to the last ten minutes of the game at 65-60.
Torresani is fed up, and with three triples and a dunk he scores 11 personal points in the first three minutes of the last period, with Nutribullet flying to 78-65. The defensive work on Gallo and Gherardini paid off, Treviso took control of the operations, managing the double-digit lead despite the difficulties in finding the way to the basket (81-69). Two minutes from the end, Casalpusterlengo accelerated, with baskets from Conti and Ferraresi for -8 Assigeco, but two baskets from Scandiuzzi brought tranquility back to the Treviso half of the pitch. Ends 87-77 for Treviso.
