The carabinieri of the Casalbuttano station, in the Cremonese area, have reported a young person from our province for driving while intoxicated and illegal possession of objects capable of offending. On the night of April 28, shortly after 2 am, the patrol during the territorial control service was in the town center of Casalbuttano and, in via Bergamo, noticed a car moving in the direction of Cremona and zigzagging, putting other road users are at risk.
They chased the car, ordering it to stop, but the man continued marching for a few kilometres, up to the border of the municipality of Castelverde where he was stopped. When the military approached the car to identify him, the man was holding a bottle of wine which he attempted to hide in the door glove compartment. Furthermore, the soldiers immediately noticed that there was a telescopic truncheon behind one of the seats.
Reported and license revoked
Having identified and ascertained that he had clear symptoms of alcohol abuse, he was subjected to a breathalyser test, which showed a value of approximately 2.00 grams per litre, four times the permitted level. The truncheon, the carrying of which is absolutely forbidden, was seized and, having received confirmation of his state of psychophysical alteration while driving, also taking into account the aggravating circumstance of the night time, it was reported to the authority judicial for driving while intoxicated and illegal possession of an offensive object.
His license was immediately withdrawn and the car, owned by another person, was handed over to the owner.
