Piazza di Palazzo Lombardia: the EV-K2-CNR pyramid is present

The facility will be relocated to Everest Base Camp

The National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps was also present at the “fuori salon” to present an experimental training project

MILAN – La Lombardy on the roof of the world: in recent days, on the occasion of the Milan Design Weekthe pyramid ofEV-K2-CNR association was exhibited in the square of Palazzo Lombardia. The facility will go in soon Nepalat 5000 meters above sea level, near the Everest base campto modernize the pyramid-laboratory already present for thirty years, created by Ardito Desioorganizer of the first ascent of K2 in 1954, e Agostino Da Polenzaone of the greatest Italian mountaineers.

In the context of “outside the living room”next to From Polenza, president of the Ev-K2-CNR associationwas also present National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (Cnsas)For present an experimental training project: two Cnsas instructors will soon go in Pakistan to share the techniques and rudiments of mountain rescue.

More and more people are choosing this destination for climbs, excursions and sports related to the mountains; consequentially, organized rescue is becoming a crucial aspect. The collaboration will help to create and grow Pakistan a structure that has the appropriate knowledge to guarantee a rescue service in mountain contexts. The project lasts three years and will involve: “high mountain carriers”to whom our instructors will try to transfer techniques and procedures.

The rescue organized in Lombardy has had a notable boost especially in the last thirty years, also thanks to the introduction ofhelicopter rescueoperating day and night, and with increasingly specialized training of rescuers: a wealth of experience that can be made available to countries that are following the same path.

In fact, another objective is precisely that of lay the foundations, in Pakistan, for an air ambulance service which, to date, is regulated and managed in the military context. The similarity with the Cnsas, especially the Lombard one, is evident: in the past, even here the helicopter rescue began with the Air Force (SAR of Linate) and with private helicopters stationed at Lecco, Sondrio and Clusone. Today, after more than thirty years, thanks to political choices and regional contributions, the citizens of Lombardy have a structured and effective air ambulance service.

The Cnsas has among its institutional purposes also theinformation and prevention and so it is it is ethically necessary to transfer knowledge also to those countries that need it; this is why we are also involved in other foreign projects, such as in Kosovo. These are initiatives that can certainly bring prestige to our country, contributing, albeit marginally, to maintaining the international relations necessary in many contexts.
