(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 29 – A suspected failure on board a Ryanair plane triggered the emergency plan at Cagliari-Elmas airport, with two arriving flights that were temporarily diverted to Alghero. The alarm went off around 4pm when the commander of the flight coming from Krakow and heading to Cagliari with 186 passengers on board reported a problem with the on-board system, asking to land immediately.

The emergency plan coordinated by Sogaer – the airport management company – was immediately launched with the arrival of the 118 ambulances, the firefighters and all the airport staff. In the meantime, the two flights coming from Catania and Naples, which were supposed to land in Cagliari at 4.24pm and 4.27pm respectively, were diverted to Alghero airport. At 4.20pm the Boeing from Krakow landed regularly and checks have now begun. The two flights diverted to Alghero, however, are returning to Cagliari. (HANDLE). .
