Never was defeat sweeter for the Trapani Academy. The 2-0 defeat on the Pro Favara pitch, in fact, also allowed the Academy to maintain the category, achieving direct salvation and thus avoiding the play-outs.
Throughout the match, in fact, news was awaited from the fields in which Aspra and Mazara were involved, because if one of the two teams had shortened the gap from the Academy to below 10 points, the Trapani team would have been condemned to the play-outs. Instead, Aspra and Mazara were both defeated and, in this way, the Trapani Academy maintained an 11-point advantage over its rivals, being able to cross the finishing line of salvation. As a freshman, as Ciccio Gambicchia, the director of the Trapani Academy, underlined at the end of the match. This result, in fact, can only make the club proud, considering that since its establishment, the team has done nothing but improve.
And upon returning from the trip to Favara, the entire Academy celebrated their salvation by meeting at the “Sorrentino”, the home of the Trapani team which, now, can plan for the next season, in which it will be the protagonist again in Eccellenza.
