He is accused of sexual violence against two children and ended up in handcuffs on April 26th. State Police officers carried out a precautionary custody measure in prison issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Arezzo against a 37-year-old foreign citizen. The man would have been the protagonist of two episodes that occurred on February 9, 2024.
The investigations, conducted by the Flying Squad of the Arezzo Police Headquarters, began on February 9th, when two separate requests for help arrived at the Operations Room. In both cases, sexual harassment by a man was reported near a city elementary school. The man then disappeared immediately after committing the crimes.
The investigators of the Arezzo Flying Squad, led by manager Sergio Leo, quickly managed to reconstruct the story. The investigations revealed that the thirty-seven-year-old, “evading the supervision of the minors’ parents, had first approached a 10-year-old child and kissed him on the cheek and, shortly afterwards, had in fact taken a 6-year-old child from his mother and , after having taken him to a secluded place, had lowered his trousers and had molested him”.
The investigators immediately listened to the parents’ testimonies, then – thanks to the acquisition of the images recorded by the surveillance cameras – they reconstructed the route taken by the man. “The investigative activity was then intensified with the creation of specific plainclothes observation services near the school concerned and other school buildings” explains the police headquarters in a note.
Precisely the observation and shadowing carried out by the plainclothes officers made it possible to trace the identity of the 37-year-old, against whom, due to serious indications of guilt acquired and given the imminent danger of repeating crimes, precautionary custody was issued in jail.
The man, tracked down by the Flying Squad agents, was then arrested and taken to the Sollicciano prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
