Today 29 April, at 10.00 am, at the headquarters of the Regional Council of Campania, in the Council Chamber “G. Siani”, the Raffaele Delcogliano award ceremony took place, with the delivery of certificates of Merit to members of the Fire Brigade, the Financial Police and the State Police, who particularly distinguished themselves in operations or service interventions during the 2023. Taking part in the ceremony were the President of the Regional Council of Campania Gennaro Oliviero, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Naples Maurizio Agricola, the Commander of the Fire Brigade of Naples Eng. Michele Mazzarro, the Commander of the Fire Brigade of Caserta Eng. Paolo Massimi, the Commander of the Avellino Fire Brigade Eng. Mario Bellizzi and the interregional Commander of Southern Italy of the Guardia di Finanza Gen. CA Vito Giampaolo Augelli. Among all those awarded, for the command of Avellino the prestigious award was awarded to Team Leader Massimiliano Gentile who on 30 January 2023, with a heroic gesture grabbed and brought to safety a woman who was trying to throw herself into the void in via Francesco Tedesco in Avellino. Commander Bellizzi complimented Team Leader Gentile at length for the award he received and for the reasons that brought his gesture to the forefront of regional news.
