CATANIA – Catania police officers intervened in the emergency room of the San Marco hospital, where an injured woman showed up. The victim, a 23-year-old from Catania, as found by the doctors who examined her, had stab wounds to her right and left biceps, as well as various wounds to her right forearm and lower abdomen. While the officers listened to the young woman’s story to try to understand what happened, a phone call came to the operations room from a woman who declared that the injured person was her sister, that it was she, at the height of a violent argument, who the perpetrator of the stabbing and of having immediately thrown the knife into a flowerbed.
At that point the patrols were sent to the home of the latter, a 47-year-old from Catania, who was immediately blocked, while in a flowerbed the officers found the knife used to wound her sister. The police found that an argument broke out in the street between the two sisters, who were on bad terms with each other. In particular, the injured woman first attempted to run over her sister and then hit her with a baseball bat. At that point, after a series of insults, the sister allegedly took out a kitchen knife, took it with her and struck the other woman several times with several blows, wounding her in several places. The woman who committed the stabbing was arrested and placed under house arrest for aggravated injuries and reported for carrying weapons or objects capable of offending.
